Follow the money, the saying goes.
Well, sometimes following the money is easier to do than at other times. Sometimes the money is out of sight, out of mind, or... out of the country. Sometimes the majority of people would agree with how that money will be spent whether in or out of the country, but I present here policies in place at present that I would like to have stopped, and that I think a majority of other Americans would too--and there's no better way that I can think of to do that than the election in November:
--Did you know that, according to this article on Rush Limbaugh's website, the policy of the current administration is to increase the number of people on the welfare rolls of this country by actively trying to recruit non-citizens (the country cited is Mexico) to use our system to access "free" food stamps? The quotations around the "free" are there for a reason--the fact that the food stamps are "free" to you, if you are using them, does not mean that it is "free". Someone always pays for it, even if it is taxpayers as a group. I have never had an issue for those who need free (to them) assistance if they are actually in need (unable to work, illness, etc.) and are legal citizens of our country. But to go out and try to get people outside of the country to take advantage of our system and to further strain the economic situation of our country is, in my opinion, at best a very unwise policy.
--Also, no news is not always good news. According to this article, written by Doug Powers and posted over at Michelle Malkin's website, there is an effort underway by the current administration to delay the bad news of people losing their jobs, by asking companies to break a law about notification so that the bad news won't coincide with the November election. Then taxpayer money is offered to make up for any monetary problems connected with delaying such notifications.
I don't want taxpayer money spent that way, do you? The economic policies put in place by the current administration demonstrably do not work. Some, such as those mentioned above, are at best questionable, and I don't agree with the choices made, nor the consequences that those choices have imposed on the American people.
These may not be the biggest issues in the upcoming election, but they are indicative of policies that I feel are not good for the country, and are part of the reason I'm voting for the Romney/Ryan ticket come November. Please join me.
